Comic Con!

Hey all! I'll be heading off to Niagara Falls this weekend for their Comic Con and I couldn't be more excited! This will be my 3rd convention, and I have to be honest, I'm totally hooked! Since I was also at Toronto Comicon a couple months ago, I thought I would share the photos I took! Toronto Comicon is about half the size of Fan Expo, (it was also held at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre and its run by the same company as Fan Expo) but despite that, it was still so much fun! (If you're interested in seeing my Fan Expo experience, you can check it out here) I decided not to meet any of the celebrities this time around, and I really just went for fun and to see what Comicon was all about. There were so many awesome cosplays and tons of vendors selling a variety of goodies, you could also purchase art and crafts hand made by people. I wanted everything naturally, but my wallet decided that wouldn't be a very smart idea ha ha ha! It was an all around awesome experience and I seriously can't wait for Niagara Comic Con this weekend and I can't wait to go back to Fan Expo this summer!

That ice cream was AMAZING! SOOOO GOOD ha ha!

Ran into one of my friends while we were there! It was really awesome seeing her again after so long!

That's all for now lovelies!
I'm hoping this post is the first of many more to come! I've missed my blog terribly!
What are your summer plans??

My February Ipsy Glam Bag!

Just a quick post to share what I got for my February Glam Bag! I liked almost all of my items and I thought the bag was much cuter than the one we got last year for February. The "theme" for February was #ipsyLOVE, and as always you can check out Ipsy HERE.

The products I received were:

  • Mitchell and Peach: Floral No.1 Fine Radiance Face Oil
  • Eva NYC: Up All Night Volumizing Spray
  • Model Co: Blush in the shade Cosmopolitan
  • City Color: Creamy Lip Stain in Flirtini
  • Emite Makeup: Professional Eyelash Curler
I didn't like the scent of this, it was entirely too strong for me. Needless to say I won't be using it, because I wouldn't be able to handle the perfume on my face...
I loved the Eva NYC hair mask I got in a previous bag, so I'm really excited to try this out and see if it works! I would buy a thousand bottles of this if it actually gives my hair any kind of volume! *Flat hair problems...*
I LOVE the colour of this blush! It's perfect for Spring! Now if we could actually get some Spring weather here in Toronto, I could put this beauty to good use! It feels very silky and smooth, and seems to blend out really well.
This lip stain is definitely more of a berry pink colour than what it's showing in the tube.. I love the colour and consistency of this stain!  It doesn't flake off or feel dry on my lips There also isn't any colour transfer once its dry.
I was really hesitant about this eyelash curler, mostly because they look like medieval torture devices for your eyeball... I had never used a lash curler prior to getting this, and I decided to try it out and I was actually surprised with how well it curled my lashes. It made a pretty noticeable difference when I applied my mascara.. I'm thinking this may now become part of my makeup routine!

That's all for now lovelies!
What was your favourite February Glam Bag item?
For me, it was a tie between the blush and the lip stain!

February Top Box! (Benefit Edition)

I opted for a special Benefit box this month and I can't wait to try these items! If I end up loving any of these products, I will be purchasing the full sized version. I did that recently with their stay flawless primer, I got a sample in a previous box and I just HAD to have it so much I caved and paid around $32 USD for the full sized item! Speaking of which, I plan on posting a makeup haul pretty soon, there's been a few things piling up that I want to share!

The Benefit Top Box comes with:

  • Roller Lash Mascara
  • The POREfessional Primer
  • It's Potent! Eye Cream
  • Puff Off Eye Gel
Roller Lash Mascara:

"It's a roller for lashes! The eye-opening Hook 'n' Roll brush grabs, separates, lifts and curls. While the instant curve-setting formula holds for 12 hours. Gently wiggle the wand from the base of the lashes to the tip. Repeat across your lashline, making sure to catch every lash." Available March 2015. 8.5g $29
I'm always looking for a new mascara, so I'm excited to see how this one holds up and I'm looking forward to seeing if it actually does what it claims. I have a mascara I'm loving at the moment, but who knows? If this one does a magnificent wonderful amazing job with my lashes, I may have to put my current favourite to the wayside and buy this one!

The POREfessional Primer:
Quickly minimize the appearance of pores and fine lines for smoother-than-smooth skin! Apply this silky, lightweight balm alone, under or over makeup. Translucent, oil-free formula compliments all skin tones and helps makeup stay put. 22mL $37
I've heard sooooooo much about this primer and I've wanted to try it for the longest time. The price point has been the only thing keeping me from getting it, so when I saw that this was one of the items for the Benefit box, I had to get it! I've heard this is very similar to the Maybelline baby skin primer, so I guess I'll be able to judge for myself if its better and worth the $37 splurge.

It's Potent! Eye Cream:
It's potent! eye cream fades dark circles and helps smooth fine lines for brighter, younger-looking eyes. Contains a peptide complex known to help restore elasticity and firmness. 14.2g $40

Puff Off Eye Gel:
Iron on. Puff off! Puffies and creases look "satiny smooth" with out innovative undereye gel. The custom "ironing" tip instantly helps smooth the look of undereye puffies and fine lines. Squeeze once and dot under each eye.. Then go back and glide on with the "ironing" tip. 10mL $35

Any product that helps with fine lines is something I'll be all over ha ha!

That's all for now!

Maybelline The Nudes Palette! (Review)

This palette has been around for sometime now, and I've had it since September.. It has become my most reached for eyeshadow palette and I thought a review would be in order. I've only done 2 reviews so far which you can read here and here and I would like to continue to do more in the future. (I don't only post the good, if I don't like something, and I feel like it's worth posting about then I will..) I wanted to give this palette a good amount of use before sharing my thoughts about it.. I purchased the Maybelline The Nudes Palette from my local Shoppers Dug Mart on sale for $6.99 CAD, which is a heck of a steal because these run for about $13.99 CAD regular price... You get 12 eyeshadows, in a mix of matte and shimmer all in gorgeous warm neutral shades.. If you know me at all, in any aspect, you'll know that I love my neutral shadows ha ha.. I also have been a long time fan of Maybelline, it was the first brand I used when I started wearing makeup and I've loved it ever since. So I of course had to scoop one of these beauties up for myself!
These eyeshadows are awesome!

  • All day wear
  • No creasing
  • Zero fallout
  • Excellent blending
  • Soft and silky feeling
  • Pigmented
  • Buildable colour
  • Best of all you get a ton of product for the price!

When I put on makeup, which isn't often these days, I'll usually wear it all day. The day I took these photos, I put my makeup on after I came home from school around 2pm and I took it off around 11pm. For a total of 9 hours of wear. My foundation didn't hold up as well, but my eyeshadow was still going strong! (The shadows I wore were 5, 10, and 11.)

That's all for now lovelies!

January Top Box!

Realizing that today is the 3rd of February, I seem to have forgotten to post what I got in my January Top Box! I really need to start writing things down more..  >.>" I'm not overly enthusiastic about January's box, mostly because I only got one make up item and it wasn't something I see myself using.. (I also did not care for the scent at all..) I prefer to get make up in my bags or boxes, but I do love the skin care samples Top Box offers, they're more high end compared to anything I've gotten from Ipsy. Overall, I can say that I am happy with my January box and I can't wait to see what I'll be getting for February!

Items I got for my January box:

  • Me Me Me Cosmetics Cheek and Lip Tint
  • Lise Watier Lift and Firm 3D Duo Serum 24 Hrs
  • Elizabeth Arden Flawless Future Powered by Ceramide Moisture Cream Broad Spectrum SPF 30
  • Eyeko Mascara Off Eye Makeup Remover Wipes
"Ideal for adding a flush of long-lasting colour to your cheeks and lips no matter what the occasion or skin tone." 12mL $10 Available at mememecosmetics.uk

This has a rose scent to it, which I am not a fan of rose scented anything, so I don't think I'll be using this..
"An instant and visible cosmetic lifting! Facial contours are visibly sculpted, skin's density and firmness is visibly improved and skin looks smoother and more supple." 2x20mL $78 Available at London Drugs

"This lightweight daily moisture cream hydrates and immediately brightens skin, as it helps smooth the look of pores and minimize the appearance of discolorations. Skin looks smooth and supple and more even toned, revitalized and luminous. 50mL $60 Available at Hudson's Bay

"100% pure cotton wipes remove eye make-up gently, quickly and efficiently. Infused with a botanical blend featuring key ingredients Olive Oil and Aloe Extract to condition and soothe the delicate eye area." 10pcs. $12 Available at Sephora and eyeko.com

I've said before that I'm quite content with my Neutrogena wipes, and don't see myself changing them for another brand any time soon, so I have no real need for make up wipes.. That being said, these also have an unpleasant scent to them, and since I'm sensitive to perfumes and things of that nature I can't handle strong scents. I doubt I will be using these on my face.. I usually use these kinds of wipes to remove swatches from my hands and forearms. It works pretty well, I just wish they were unscented..

That's all for now lovelies!
