July Top Box! (Benefit They're Real Edition)

I decided to pick a special top box instead of the regular box for July. Topbox gives you the option every month to make a wish list for special boxes if you want to have those instead of the regular ones they offer.. I saw they had one for Benefit, and because I've never tried anything from that brand before I thought I'd give it a go! Unfortunately, I was a little disappointed in the size of the samples.. They're pretty small.. I guess I'm too used to the products Ipsy offers... Or maybe I expect a little more for my money... Either way, I'm still happy with what I got and I'm really excited to try these out! I've decided to forego the special boxes for August and see what they give me.. I'll decide then whether or not I want to cancel my subscription.. Any way here's what I received in my Benefit They're Real Edition box:

  • Push Up Liner
  • Makeup Remover
  • Stay Don't Stray Eyeshadow Base/concealer
  • Mascara

It's unfortunate that I got the medium/deep colour... The package it came in said it can be used as a concealer and an eyeshadow base, I can use it as a base if I blend it out well enough.. However, it would be much too dark to use as a concealer..

That's all for now lovelies!
What did you get in your July Topbox?
Have you tried the They're Real line from Benefit and if so, what are your favourites?

My July Ipsy Glam Bag!

Hey there strangers! haha! It feels like FOREVER since I last posted anything! I do apologize, my life has been a hectic and crazy whirlwind of busyness and will be that way for the foreseeable future... Just a small update: I have gone back to school and I'm really stoked about it! Also I have been helping a family friend of mine take care of her baby (I was there when she gave birth and MAN  was that ever an amazing and wonderful experience!) We had family visiting and my sister was here.. SO like I said I've been super busy! Which is why I will probably only be posting once a week, which is normal for some bloggers, but I liked being able to post something new every couple days. The reality is I have little to no time, and even though I absolutely love my blog and the fact that I always have tons of fun posting things, this is only a hobby for me and I have to prioritize my life.. Hopefully when things slow down a little bit I'll be able to blog more!

ANYWAY! This post is all about IPSY and my glambag so let's get back on topic shall we?

I have to say that I LOVE everything I received this month! I don't think I've loved all five of my items before! Way to go Ipsy! ha ha! The theme for this month was Sensationally Sunkissed. As usual you can check out Ipsy here

Here's what I got for the month of July:

  • Pur-lisse SPF 30 sunscreen
  • Marrakesh Endz Argan and Hemp Oil Therapy Split End Mender and Preventer
  • Elizabeth Mott Tints and Sass Fabulous Lip and Cheek Stain in Cherry
  • Bare Minerals Ready Eyeshadow 2.0 The Inspiration in Muse and Passion
  • Pur Minerals Big Look Waterproof Mascara with Argan Oil

I probably won't use this as a cheek stain, but I can't wait to try it on my lips. Plus this smells like cherries!

These shadows feel so silky and I just love the colours!

I LOVE this packaging!

eyeshadows on the left, lip/cheek stain on the right.

Chopped Off My Hair!

I had been contemplating cutting my hair for quite sometime now, mostly because since it's so fine, it has become really hard to manage. My hair tangles so easily, and brushing it can really be a chore... Don't get me wrong, I absolutely loved my long hair and I've had long hair for most of my life, but I felt like change was necessary and also very welcome ha ha! I think I took off somewhere around 10 inches if not a little more. I love how light and free my hair feels now and it's so much nicer since it's summer time! It took me somewhere around a year and a half to grow my hair out from the length it currently is to the length it used to be before I cut it off. My hair grows fairly quickly, so it wasn't too big a deal to me to cut it since I know I can grow it out again at any time. I didn't do anything fancy this time around, last time I got a cut, I had layers and fringe but this time around I just wanted a straight cut.

Before
After

LOVING it!
That's all for now lovelies!
Until next time!

Canada Day Weekend!

Just wanted to share with everyone what I did over the long weekend last week. We had our annual Canada Day BBQ on Sunday, rather than the actual day because it was more convenient for everyone. (Canada Day fell on a Tuesday this year) My sister and I made some delicious S'more stuffed cookies using a recipe I found on Pinterest. (You can find the actual recipe HERE.) They turned out really yummy! We had a nice place all set up but unfortunately I was only there for about an hour, we got thunder stormed out all of a sudden! It was nice and sunny and the next thing we knew it was POURING rain and there was tons of thunder and lightning! Everyone had to scramble around to get everything packed up into the cars and out of the rain, it was a less than ideal situation, but it made for a good story and interesting memories! Even though I didn't get to stay very long it was still a lot of fun and totally worth it. After we were all soaking wet and sort of bummed about ending our BBQ way too soon, I came up with the idea of going to the movies (after we all dried off and changed first ha ha!) We saw the new Transformers movie. (To me it wasn't very good, I was pretty disappointed...)

On the first (which was the actual holiday) we decided to hit up Rib Fest, it's an annual event that features a variety of different ribs and other BBQ foods. There are also rides, arcade games, and tents where people were selling different merchandise. I had never been to Rib Fest prior to this one, and I always wanted to go and see what it was about because quite a few people we know have been previous years and said the food was amazing. (It really was!) My hubby had to work that day, so we couldn't stay too long. We picked a place to get food from and we walked around a bit, but that was about all. I enjoyed going and hopefully we can go for an actual full day next year.

This guy was hanging around with his family looking for some free food.

After the storm hit and I ran to the car ha ha!

The sunset after the storm was stunning!

Some of the vendors selling ribs.

:p the food we bought... LOL it was all really yummy!
It was a lovely day at Centennial Park!

 That's all for now lovelies!
I hope all of my fellow Canadians had a wonderful Canada Day, and I also hope that all my fellow Americans had an amazing 4th!
