My November Ipsy Glam Bag!

I can't believe November is half way over already! Christmas, and my birthday are steadfastly approaching! (happy Snoopy dance) November's theme is Girl Meets Glitter and can I just say how excited I am about this bag?! I'm quite pleased with each of my items and I'm also loving the bag. (It's VERY sparkly!) Check out IPSY if you're interested in subscribing! I tried out 4 of my 5 items the other day and I have to say that I'm really satisfied with each of them. The only thing I didn't try was the highlighter, mostly because I've never used one before... Enough about that, let's get to the good stuff!

The items I received this month were:

  • Marc Anthony Oil of Morocco Argan Oil Hair Spray
  • Temptu S/B Highlighter (Pink Pearl)
  • J.Cat Wonder Lip Paint (Red Potion)
  • Elizabeth Mott You're So Fine Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner (Glitterati)
  • Be A Bombshell Eye Base (Submissive)
I like the scent of this hairspray, and I like that it doesn't make my hair feel crunchy. I don't know if this actually gives any volume, because I had my hair up when I used it, but it does hold well and overall I'm pretty happy with it.

This looks much darker in the tube than it actually is. It's a lovely berry coloured lip paint that blends out quite nicely. I don't normally go for dark and bold lips, so when I wore this I dabbed small amounts on my lips at a time and rubbed it in until I got the desired colour I was looking for. I expected this to be drying, but it surprisingly wasn't.

I normally prefer the sponge applicators for liquid liners, and I wasn't sure how well this brush would apply the product to my eyelids. I was surprised that this brush was not only incredibly easy to use, but the product glided on my lid and was very opaque.

I LOVE this eye base! It's a gorgeous shimmery gold that blends onto my eyelids nicely. The only thing with this was that it made my eyeshadow that I placed on top VERY dark, which is not necessarily a bad thing, but I'm not used to wearing dark eyeshadow... I think next time I'll just wear this beauty by itself.

Left to Right; Eye base, Liquid liner, Lip paint and Highlighter

Apologies for the quality of the photo, I used my phone, because my camera died the other day, and it was dark by the time I put my makeup on..  *Le sigh* It looked so nice though haha!

That's all for now lovelies!
What did you get in your November Glam Bag?

October Top Box!

I hope everyone had a really fun, safe, and spooky Halloween! I was insanely busy last week; mostly getting ready for Halloween and a Halloween party that my hubby and I were invited to, so this post had to be postponed until now ha ha! I think overall I like Top Box, and I've decided to keep my subscription for the time being. The items I received for October were pretty good, they were all a decent size, and I felt I got a good variety of items. I only tried one of my four items, but I am excited to eventually try out everything! I think I may start doing a Top Box Favourites kind of post the way I have done with my Ipsy Glam Bags.

October's Items were:

  • Bioderma Sensibio H2O Micelle Solution
  • The Balm Cosmetics How 'Bout Them Apples? Lip and Cheek Cream
  • Curly Hair Solutions Curl Keeper
  • Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eye Serum Synchronized Complex II
"At the cutting edge of innovation, BIODERMA has pioneered micellar solutions. Specially formulated for sensitive, normal to dry skins, the Sensibio H2O micelle solution gently cleanses face and eyes. It removes water-resistant make-up." 250 mL, $21.95 available at Shoppers Drug Mart and other drug stores. For me personally, I liked this product, but I felt like it doesn't do the job that my Neutrogena wipes do. I think it would be good for days I don't wear much make-up, or even when I run out of make-up wipes. It's not a terrible product by any means, but I'll stick to my $9 pack of wipes haha..
"A multi-functioning lip and cheek cream palette. Each freshly picked color is formulated to have a smooth finish that won't streak or fade, so there are no bad apples in this bunch!" 20g, $32 Available at thebalm.com. I have to admit that I would probably only use this on my lips, because I'm quite intimidated by not only red blush, but also cream products. I may get adventurous and try it out, who knows?
The Balm How 'Bout Them Apples, lip and cheek cream in Pie.
"A water based formula that controls all frizz due to humidity. This enables you to become the master of any curly hairstyle for several days. It is effective in all weather conditions, and is great for scrunch drying, styling with brushes, defuse-drying, or just drying naturally." These products are available from frizzoff.com and range in price from $10-46 So. I do have frizzy hair, especially when it's humid out and I'm definitely interested in seeing how this will work with my hair! Unfortunately, I do not have curly hair, so I'm a little skeptical...
"Now re-ignite the youthful light of your eyes with our most comprehensive anti-aging eye serum ever. Proven to reduce the look of every key visible sign of eye aging: fine lines, wrinkles, puffiness, dark circles, dryness and uneven skin tone. 15 mL, $75 available at Esteelauder.ca. I was most excited about this item, I'm always looking for a good eye cream and if this does the job then I may just have to splurge and buy the full sized version.

My October Ipsy Glam Bag!

Hello all! Sorry I've been M.I.A. on the blogging front for the better part of October.. I've been sick for a while; and thankfully, I think I'm finally getting well again. I've also been really busy with school and gearing up for Halloween! I thought I would share my October Glam Bag with you all since the month is nearly over.. (and boy how quickly did it go by?!) October's theme was Beauty Candy, and I thought the bag was super cute! It was bright blue with a quilted type pattern. As always everything you want or need to know about this subscription service you can find on Ipsy's website.

The items I got this month:

  • Epice Purifying Exfoliant
  • Ecru New York Acacia Protein BB Cream
  • Mica Beauty Cosmetics Mineral Eye Shadow (in the colour Reluctance)
  • Starlooks Lip Gloss (in the shade Guilty Pleasure)
  • Figs and Rouge Hand Cream (in the Mango Mandarin scent)

I haven't tried this exfoliant yet. Mainly because I'm really loving my cleanser from The Body Shop, but I'm always up to trying out new face products!

This BB cream has a light and fresh scent to it and when I tried it on my dry hair, it made my hair feel really soft and smooth! I'm going to test it out on damp hair and see how it feels when it dries.

I love eyeshadow, and this sparkly silvery green colour is GORGEOUS! I'm not usually a fan of green anything, but I really can't wait to try this out!

I love Starlooks, and I love me some lip gloss, this gloss is a beautiful shade of pink and smells like candy! The only small draw back is that this gloss is a little on the sticky side, that however, will not stop me from using and loving it!

I have pretty dry skin, so body lotions and creams are fast becoming my best friend! I always love getting a new type of cream to try out and this one smells so delicious! It's not greasy, it absorbs quickly and it leaves my hands feeling nice and soft.
On the left is the eye shadow and on the right is the lip gloss.

That's all for now lovelies!

September Top Box!

With this month coming to a close, I thought it may be a good idea to finally share what I got in my September Top Box!

Top Box gives you the option each month to switch out your box for a reusable draw string bag, and I personally prefer it, because they can be used for a ton of different things and they take up a lot less space than the boxes. I believe they also come in a variety of colours. (this is my second month getting one and I have received a black one and now a green one.) I have only tried one item from this month's box, so I decided to add in the description of the products that is written on the card you get in your box. Over all, the only item I'm excited about is the nail polish.. Unfortunately, I'm still not wowed by this service.. I feel they have so much potential, which is why I'm still conflicted about whether or not I should cancel my subscription...

Items I received this month:

  • Amika Perk Up Dry Shampoo
  • Bioderma Sebium Foaming Gel
  • Illumalift Instant Illumination Brightening Cream
  • Teeez Nail Lacquer in Raging Ruby
Amika Perk Up Dry Shampoo

"For a quick no-wash cleanse or an extra boost of volume, this dry shampoo leaves hair instantaneously soft and refreshed." Retail Price: 156 ml $29 & 30 ml $11 at local salons.
For me this dry shampoo did next to nothing. It didn't absorb all the oil in my hair even after using a liberal amount, leaving it still looking oily. The scent was overpowering, and I gained zero volume from this product.

Bioderma Sebium Foaming Cleanser

"Gently cleanses and purifies the skin without drying. Its exclusive patent biologically prevents imperfections. Paraben free, soap free, no colourings, hypoallergenic." Retail Price: 200 ml $19.95 at Shoppers Drug Mart, Murale, Rexall.

Illumalift Instant Illumination Brightening Cream

"Place Illumalift under eyes, on eyelids, around nasal folds and anywhere you have deep lines or dark areas. Blend above and below the dark area. Retail Price: 3.5 g $33 at illumalift.com

Teeez Nail Lacquer

Apply two coats for an even finish. This nail lacquer will take your nails to high-gloss heaven. Retail Price: 8.5 ml at teeez.eu

Bath And Body Works Fall Haul!

I may or may not have gone a tad crazy with buying a lot of the new fall scents from B&BW... I love finding out what the new scents are and smelling everything to pick and choose my favourites from the new ones and also repurchase some of my previous favourites, so I was stalking every B&BW that I was in close proximity to since about August.. (no shame here haha) My favourite things to get are hand soaps and candles, and now more recently I like picking up the scent portable discs for the car. I'm pretty picky when I comes to the lotions and body sprays, so I don't really buy those very often, unless they have a seasonal scent I just HAVE to have. I think my favourite fall scent right now is the Pumpkin Caramel Latte!

(This is a haul that has been collecting for a good while now, and of course I didn't buy all of these things at once.. They also were having sales each time I went.)

I bought:

Scent Portables:

  • Farm Stand Apple
  • Pumpkin Cupcake
  • Pumpkin Pecan Waffles
  • Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin
Hand Soap:
  • Weekend Apple Picking
  • Fall Cranberry Harvest
  • Pumpkin Spice Latte
  • Pumpkin Pecan Waffles

Candles:
  • Pumpkin Cinnamon Bun (3-wick)
  • Pumpkin Caramel Latte (3-wick)
  • 2 Pumpkin Caramel Latte (minis)
  • Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin (mini)
  • Caramel Pumpkin Swirl (mini)
  • Pumpkin Cupcake

That conclude this Fall haul!
There may or may not be another one in the near future haha! We'll see if I go on another fall scent kick!

Happy First Day Of Fall! (My Fall Décor!)

The beginning of fall marks the beginning of my favourite time of the year! I love absolutely everything fall has to offer along with the anticipation it brings of winter and Christmas being just around the corner!  I love the crisp mornings, the vibrant colours of the leaves as they cascade gracefully to the ground, the crunchy sound they make as you walk along the rain kissed side walk in the cool afternoons, the sound of the rain gently trickling down, the aroma of fresh brewed coffee on cold mornings, pumpkin flavoured EVERYTHING, comfy sweaters and boots and of course Halloween and scary movies! What isn't there to love about this season?!

I have to admit that besides Halloween and Christmas, I was never the decorating type of girl. I always envied those beautiful photos in the magazines of lovely living rooms perfectly decorated for the seasons and holidays, but I never really had an interest in ACTUALLY doing it myself, until now... Perhaps with the wisdom we gain as we get older, also comes the desire to obsessively browse pinterest for the newest decorating idea and to then stalk every Michaels and Walmart in every city in about a 100 mile radius around you for the just right thing to add to your "display"... No? Is that just me?? ha ha probably.. All I know is I'm officially hooked on the whole home décor train and Martha Stewart is pretty much my new best friend... Okay, maybe I'm not THAT obsessed.. yet..
(I purchased my items from Michael's and Walmart..) I'm also very proud to say that my hubby who could care less about anything that has to do with the craft store, helped me pick out a couple things! He picked out a bunch of leaves that I put into a small vase, and he also found a leaf garland that I placed around our desk.

Here's what I came up with:

Our Desk, I'm not sure what I'm going to do after we get our new desktop computer though haha!

My FAVOURITE Candle right now!

I also added a little fall flair to my bookshelf... I left the blue owls and the vase, because they were already there and I didn't have any place else to put them..

Everything is so glittery, I wish my camera could pick up how beautiful these decorations really are!

That's all for now lovelies!
Did you catch the decorating bug too?
