Niagara Falls Comic Con!

I had the pleasure of going to the gorgeous Niagara Falls a couple of weekends back for their Comic Con convention and it was an amazing and fun experience! While it was smaller than Toronto's Comic Con, there was still so much to see and do! We didn't meet any celebrities at this con either, we just wanted to go for fun and see what it was all about. There were a variety of booths offering all kinds of nerdy goodness! There was a combination of handmade items and art, and also regular items like comic books and figures up for grabs! I found the Niagara prices to be fairly cheaper than Toronto, but you could still easily spend every penny you had if not careful ha ha! There was also a quarter operated retro arcade with classics like Q-Bert, Donkey Kong, Tetris, Space Invaders, The Simpsons and so much more! (unfortunately, I didn't get the chance to take any photos) I loved the seeing all the cosplayers and their unique costumes, it really makes me want to try my hand at it, but I'm still pretty intimidated about it! We got there around 12:30pm, (the event started at 10am) and we left around 5pm. The convention was going until 7pm, but we had already seen and done everything, so we went back to our hotel to hang out until we decided what we wanted for dinner. We decided on TGI Friday's, because there isn't one that I know of in Toronto and it was cheaper than The Outback Steakhouse. (Also something we don't have in Toronto) The food was delicious and quite filling haha! After dinner we didn't really know what we wanted to do, so we decided to go mini golfing because we've done most everything there is to do in Clifton Hill on previous visits. Mini golfing with my husband is always fun, because while we are both extremely competitive, we always just play for fun. No score cards or anything. Plus I always cheat ha ha! We were only able to stay for one night, so we had to kind of pick and choose what we really wanted to do, so on Sunday we decided to go to the Bird Kingdom, because we love birds and I really wanted to go the last time we went to Niagara (if you're interested in those shenanigans check it out here) As always Niagara was so much fun and I can't wait until the next time I get to go back!

That's all for now lovelies!

My March, April, And May Ipsy Glam Bags!

I personally love seeing what other people get in their subscription boxes, so I thought I would share my previous Glam Bags for anyone else out there who likes these kinds of posts as much as I do! I'm always excited to get that bright pink bubble packet in my mail box every month, it always feels like Christmas! I am patiently waiting for my June bag to arrive, in the mean time lets take a look at my previous goodies!
The theme for March was Floral Fantasy, very fitting for the beginning of Spring and Summer!

The items I received were:
  • Pur~lisse gentle soy milk cleanser
  • Cool Way Glow Oil Treatment
  • Boo-Boo Cover Up Concealer in Medium
  • Pixi Mesmerizing Mineral Duo in Apricot Glow
  • NYX Butter Lipstick in Pops
This cleanser claims to also be a makeup remover. It is sulfate free and non drying, it says it gently washes away dirt and makeup (even mascara), it soothes and tones skin while protecting against cellular damage with white tea. Blue lotus extract leaves skin feeling soft, supple and silky and is made for all skin types.

The Coolway Glow Oil Treatment is alcohol free, cruelty free and is made with porphyra seaweed. It smells like candy and can be used on wet or dry hair for shiny and hydrated hair.

I was pretty bummed out about this concealer, because it's far too dark for my very fair complexion... The idea of this product is awesome, this is a concealer that heals and covers up boo-boos which I think would be great to use if it weren't at least 2 shades too dark for me... I will probably be giving this away to one of my sisters or friends or something.

I like Pixi, I've gotten a few of their products from Ipsy in the past and they've all been pretty good quality. I also love neutral tones, and eyeshadow, and anything shimmery, so this duo has my name written all over it! This feels so buttery soft and is so silky! I will definitely be making use of this for the summer!

I've wanted to try the NYX butter lipsticks for a while now! I absolutely LOVE their butter glosses! I'm so happy I got one in this bag and it's also in a shade that I would wear on a regular basis. This is a nude berry color, and while I love the color, I'm not in love with the formula.. It feels slightly greasy rather than hydrating or creamy. I found that blotting some of the product off after applying it to my lips helped quite a bit with the consistency and feeling. I would definitely be willing to buy more shades from this line.
April's theme was Beautifully Bohemian and it came with a very funky boho chic bag!

The items from April were:
  • Mica Beauty Cosmetics Eye Primer
  • Lather Ultra Light Face Lotion
  • The Balm Cosmetics Nude Dude Eye Shadow in Flirty
  • Mullen & Sparrow Tinted Lip and Cheek Balm
  • Hikari Blush in Tango
I feel like this primer could be a hit or miss. It feels like it has a very thick consistency and could prove difficult to blend onto the lids.. I think I would have to really warm it up before I could successfully apply and blend this onto my eyelids. I am interested in seeing how it fairs against my Essence primer.

While I do look forward to trying new moisturizers and creams, I am also very picky about the things I put on my face when it comes to these products. I am also pretty sensitive to scents, and because this smells like roses, I won't be using it. I don't like rose scented anything unless it's an actual rose... It's just too strong for me...

I am in LOVE with this eyeshadow! It's a GORGEOUS purple/gold/brown combination with a punch of shimmer. Definitely a great summer color! I can't wait to use this!

I was disappointed in this product... The color of this balm inside the tin is a pretty berry color, however there is zero color payoff when you try to wear it.. It also doesn't seem like something I would put on my cheeks, it's far too much of a balm than anything else. So, while this wouldn't make a great tinted lip balm it would be good to use as a balm in general. It's all natural, handmade, vegan, and smells like chocolate tootsie rolls.  Yum!

I'm really excited to try out this blush! It's a super bright coral pink and it is so silky and is really pigmented! A perfect summer color!
The May theme was Jet Setter and it came with a cute and sassy little bag which I think is my favorite of the three!

My May items were:
  • Luxie 205 Tapered Blending Brush
  • Briogeo Rosarco Milk Leave in Conditioning Spray
  • Amie Morning Dew Matte-Finish Moisturizer
  • Urban Decay Revolution High Color Lipgloss in Bittersweet and Failbait and 24/7 Glide On Lip Pencil in Ozone
  • Bella Pierre Cosmetics Gel Eyeliner in Ebony

My feeling is you can never have too many makeup brushes! I'm always excited to get eyeshadow brushes especially blending brushes! I love this tapered blending brush, its dense and fluffy and it really blends out the eyeshadow in my crease effortlessly!

Hair products are another thing I am always happy to get and feel like you can never have too many of either! This leave in conditioning spray smells so yummy! With a combination of rosehip, argan, coconut oils, vitamin E and hibiscus leaf antioxidants this claims to nourish, repair, and renew hair by providing moisture, strength, manageability, softness and protection against breakage, heat damage, and UV exposure. That is certainly a tall order to fill, but I am interested in trying this out and see how it does!

Another product that I unfortunately won't be using due to its harsh perfume scent is this moisturizer. I really wish companies didn't put perfumes in their face products. Just as well anyways, it's more for oily skin so I'll be passing this along to someone else.

I was excited for another UD sample in my bag, only to open it up and see the weird way it was packaged. I feel like if I don't use this right away it'll dry up fast.. I was hoping it would be in a small tube like most lip gloss samples.. I'm interested in the 24/7 glide on lip pencil, it's supposed to prime and moisturize your lips to help gloss and lipstick stay longer.

I live for black eyeliner, I wear nothing else! I've tried but I always go back... I like getting new brands to try out, especially ones that I've never heard of before. The best thing about this eyeliner is that it's gel based and I prefer gel liners to the basic pencil liners. The other great thing about this, is that its in a pencil/stick form rather than a pot like my other gel liners come in. Which means no need for brushes and eyeliner skills that I do not possess! ha ha!

That's all for my previous Glam Bags!
What were your favorite products and bag designs?

Comic Con!

Hey all! I'll be heading off to Niagara Falls this weekend for their Comic Con and I couldn't be more excited! This will be my 3rd convention, and I have to be honest, I'm totally hooked! Since I was also at Toronto Comicon a couple months ago, I thought I would share the photos I took! Toronto Comicon is about half the size of Fan Expo, (it was also held at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre and its run by the same company as Fan Expo) but despite that, it was still so much fun! (If you're interested in seeing my Fan Expo experience, you can check it out here) I decided not to meet any of the celebrities this time around, and I really just went for fun and to see what Comicon was all about. There were so many awesome cosplays and tons of vendors selling a variety of goodies, you could also purchase art and crafts hand made by people. I wanted everything naturally, but my wallet decided that wouldn't be a very smart idea ha ha ha! It was an all around awesome experience and I seriously can't wait for Niagara Comic Con this weekend and I can't wait to go back to Fan Expo this summer!

That ice cream was AMAZING! SOOOO GOOD ha ha!

Ran into one of my friends while we were there! It was really awesome seeing her again after so long!

That's all for now lovelies!
I'm hoping this post is the first of many more to come! I've missed my blog terribly!
What are your summer plans??
